Norway Elopements

What is an elopement, and how is it different from a traditional wedding?
Eloping used to mean running away to get married, often spontaneously and without telling anyone, but we’ve come a long way since those days. Now elopements often bring to mind couples in beautiful landscapes, but this isn’t about the photos — it’s about your experience!
I define an elopement as a small wedding for couples who want to get married in a less traditional way, without the stress that often follows planning a big wedding. Couples who elope would rather spend a day (or two) doing what they love most together, whether that’s something adventurous like a big hike or something relaxed like exploring a new place.
If you forget everything you’re supposed to do when planning a wedding, and ask yourselves what you actually want to do on your wedding day, what are you left with?
Do you want to celebrate the day alone, or do you have a small group of friends or family that you want to be there with you?
Would you like to hike a mountain and watch sunset from the summit, take a boat ride around the fjords and stop to swim in a quiet bay, or maybe snuggle up under wool blankets on a sleigh ride under the stars?
When you plan an elopement in Norway, your imagination is the only limit. An experienced photographer (hi, that’s me!) can help you with both ideas and execution, so you can plan your version of the best day ever — without any stress.

“Our experience with Nina was nothing short of magical. She guided us through every step of planning, and on our elopement day we felt like we were celebrating with a close friend. The photos are breathtaking!”

Frequently Asked Questions
How do we book you?
Start by filling out the contact form at the bottom of this page. If I’m available for your date we’ll schedule a video call to get to know each other. I would love to hear about your plans, share more about how I work, and answer all your questions. If we’re a good match I’ll send you a booking link with a contract and invoice for your retainer, and once that’s signed and paid you’re officially booked.
How much is the retainer?
The retainer is 50% of the total price of the collection you choose, and is nonrefundable if you cancel the elopement. This covers the time I’ve spent planning with you, and having to turn down other inquiries for the same time period.
Can you help us find the best place to elope in Norway?
Yes, I love helping with this! I create personalized location guides for all my couples, with all the best places to elope that fit the vibe you want.
How many hours do we need you for?
It really depends on how you want to spend the day, but an hour of photos feels much more intense than having a photographer with you all day. The more time we spend together, the better you can experience the day and get relaxed photos to remember it by.
Do you charge extra for travel?
I travel for every single elopement that i photograph, but I do not charge extra for my travel expenses within Norway for full day and two day elopements.
When do we receive the photos?
You’ll get a sneak peek of 5-10 photos within two days after the elopement, and the full gallery is delivered within six weeks.
How many photos do we get?
It depends on what’s happening during the elopement, but you’ll usually receive around 40-50 photos for every hour of photography.
What’s your editing style?
It’s important for your photos to reflect what the day actually looked and felt like, so my editing is natural and timeless.
Do you shoot film or digital?
Both! I primarily shoot on digital, but I also love shooting film for highlights throughout the day. Digital is safe and reliable, and works in all weather and conditions, but there’s something charming and nostalgic about film photography that fits perfectly with elopements.
Is there a limit to how many guests we can invite?
If you want your ceremony to happen outside on public lands, I recommend keeping your guest list small — ideally under 15 people total. This helps us leave no trace and care for the beautiful landscapes we’re in.
For larger groups, I recommend booking a venue for your ceremony, but I will of course help with recommendations for this too.

“I was blown away by our gallery! Nina was easy to communicate with throughout the planning process. She was sweet and patient, and helped my husband and I feel comfortable in front of the camera. I’m so grateful we booked her for our elopement!”
